Bathroom Remodeling in Point Arena & the Mendocino Coast
Full bathroom remodels built to stand up to salt air, from demo to final tile and trim.

A bathroom remodel is the project we are asked for most often on the Mendocino coast, and it is the work we know best. Riboli & Son's has been remodeling coastal bathrooms since 1985 — gutting tired 1970s tub surrounds, opening up cramped layouts, building curbless showers for homeowners who want to stay in their house for the long haul, and finishing everything with tile that is set to last.
Coastal bathrooms are a different animal than inland ones. Constant humidity, salt air, and long stretches of cool damp weather punish poor waterproofing and cheap hardware. We build the parts you cannot see — framing, blocking, backer board, waterproof membrane, ventilation — the way they should be done, then finish with materials chosen to hold up in a house a few hundred yards from the Pacific.
Every remodel is run by Joe Riboli personally. You are not handed off to a rotating crew or a project manager who has never seen your house. You get one contractor, one phone number, and a straight answer about what your bathroom needs and what it will cost.

Bathroom Remodeling FAQs
- How long does a bathroom remodel take on the Mendocino coast?
- A straightforward full bathroom remodel usually runs two to four weeks on site. Layout changes, custom tile work, or long lead times on fixtures shipped out to the coast can extend that, and we tell you up front which parts of the schedule are outside our control.
- What does a bathroom remodel cost in Point Arena?
- Cost depends on the size of the room, whether plumbing moves, and the tile and fixtures you choose. We give free, itemized on-site estimates so you can see exactly where the money goes and adjust the scope before we start.
- Can you work on a vacation or second home while I'm away?
- Yes. Many of our clients in Sea Ranch, Gualala and Anchor Bay are not here full time. We handle access, send photo updates, and keep the site secure and clean between visits.
- Do you handle permits?
- Yes. When a remodel requires permits through Mendocino or Sonoma County, we handle the paperwork and coordinate inspections as part of the job.
